Merry Christmas

Novis and I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. The following is the latest report from Bro. Jun Abay, our current project.

This two weeks are full loaded of materials and construction workers working from 8am to 10pm. We are adding workers as needed to complete the building before the dedication.

Praise the Lord! The foreman and four construction workers are now attending our worship every Sunday. They already professed Jesus as savior three Sundays ago. What a victory this construction brought in saving lost and dying souls to Jesus feet.

This last attachment is the last need we have to make the building closed, out of noisance, out of disturbance from outside and beautiful of all PMD project would erect for His glory and honor. This is the lowest price bid for this need.

The total in dollar amount if the rate is P43 per $ is ($ 1373.48 ) in Peso = ( P 59,000 ). This is the last job installation then we are done of the building.

We really need to in-close our building to avoid disturbances and noises from the next commercial mechanic shop, alighnment,vulcanizing and trucking businesses. The installation will start this friday and they will finish all in three days.

I trust the Lord to supply this need as needed for this project. thanks for your heart for supporting Philippine mission. I think that this is the 1st mission support that the Philippine MBC churches has been benifited most. God will bless this ministry thru you and i will continue to support until Jesus comes thru the blessings of His people housed in this beautiful building.

The following is the latest report from Bro. Jun Abay about Smile City Missionary Baptist Church, our current project. For those who do not receive our report each month, be sure to go to the reports page and open our November report to see what is happening.

We are now working night and day. We are adding more skilled and helpers so we can work as fast as we are able. Tomorrow, three paintors will strike their paint rollers and one will do the compressor and spray gun at the stage and entrance area.

Two carpenters, one helper and the foreman will continue the metal farring so the ceiling will be installed after. Four helpers and one mason are working on the pavement of the parking lot and entrance area tomorrow.

Two men will work in the big C.R. at the right back side.

This is the week of Thanksgiving Holidays, our children are celebrating the time out of school, many adults are looking forward to a day away from work, a time to be with family and friends over a big Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, dressing and all of trimmings, then there is football, and late night shopping. Thanksgiving should be so much more than these things, we have so many things to be Thankful for, God has been so good to us as a nation and as individuals. So often we fail to remember or to teach our children what it is to be thankful and God is left out completely. This past week I subbed for a 6th grade English class, the students were to write about what Thanksgiving meant to them. As I looked over some of the papers, God was not mentioned, it was a time to be out of school, a time to eat a big meal with the family, it was sad tha a couple said they had nothing to be thankful for. We as individuals, The Lord’s churches and our Great Nation need to wake up and begin to give our Lord thanks for what He did for us on the cross of Calvary and the many blessings we have as children of God and the privilege to live in this Great NATION, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. THANK YOU GOD FOR SALVATION AND THE MANY BLESSINGS!

Now for our weekly update;

Novis and I enjoyed attending the Missionary Baptist Association of Texas meeting at Walnut St. MBC in Hilsboro, TX. The meeting was well attended, great preaching, good reports from missionaries and a good time of fellowship. It was good to see many of the pastors that pastor churches who support PMD. Missions are so important to the advancement of the Gospel Message.

Pastor Jun sent the following report;

Brethren actually this is the 15th week but becoz i wrote the withdrawals and receipts with 16th week. We are now ordering the delivery of the roofing but it will take a week to arrive so we need a little waiting. God i already bought the tiles for the flooring and the ceiling. We are left with the painting, lighting and the rooms we will be using for the children’s worship and the guest room. We are prepared to work day and night with shifting team workers so we can hit our target date of organization and blessing.

Pray hard for us as we do likewise to you all and your plan to visit the brethren and see the beautiful building for His kingdom work.

Had a great day Sunday in the Morning services of West Hamilton MBC in Shelbyville, and their Pastor, Bro. Scott Jones. I enjoyed presenting Philippine Mission Development and bringing the Morning message, and lunch with Scott and his family.

In the Evening service I was privileged to be with Corinth MBC in Timpson, and Pastor Carroll Jones. I shared PMD with the church, and enjoyed being a part of their Youth night service and the Pastor appreciation shown by the youth. I learned that Bro. Carroll is a ‘Cool Pastor’. Also had a great time of fellowship, and even enjoyed some Filipino food.

The following is a weekly update from Bro. Jun Abay:

Brethren,

This week is more on plastering, finishing the inside, tampering the filling soil so we can do the flooring. We also finished some plumbing and electrical.

Four days ago, i went to La Castillana, two hours by a car and finished the deal on the hardwood panel door for the entrance and two side doors. I will pick up the panel doors this
week ready for mounting.

As you see the stage has the progress and the rooms at sides will be done this week too.

Please pray that we can finish the roofing soon.

October 26 Report on Smile City MBC

I am sorry for the delay in getting the update out, but was late getting the information. The progress is going well, and the building is taking shape. There will be another beautiful building soon to be used for the honor and glory of God. It will be a building we all can be proud of because it is truly a gift from God.

Included is a portion of Pastor Jun’s report. Thanks for all the loyal support.

Brethren,

This week is busy with the plastering finish in and out. We also work on the rooms at the stage ready for the plumbing of the baptistery at the middle back of the pulpit.

Our front view is starting with the final roof trusses. We did some filling so we are higher that the road of the subdivision. The engineer will make it sure the building floor
is higher than any big houses in the area. The building looks beautiful and beautiful by the grace of God.

This week we add more helpers to do the volcanic filling soil carry on back and another Mason expedite the work on finishing touch. We bought the plumbing materials and that
is why we are spending more this week.

Pray for all the workers for strength and good health!

October 18, 11th Week Project Report

There was a week when Pastor Jun was unable to send his report. The following is his latest, and brings his reports up to date. We are thankful he is able to comply with this request. You will see from his report that members of the church are volunteering to help with certain jobs.

BRETHREN,

The project is really progressing and we are doing our best to make the building beautiful, economic yet quality. This morning we are doing a filling of volcanic soil so our floor
ground is even higher than the road for heavy rain flood prevention. The engineer is so safety conscious so we can have a convenient facility for His kingdom work.

My strength is now on it’s normal function that i can assist some of the main work in the site. We are trying to complete the ribs purlins of the trusses hoping to put up the
roofing very soon. We are working on the rooms and baptismal at the stage area with the plumbing soon this week to be in place.

The engineer is now commanding the welder to measure the frontage top trusses and the cross in stainless steel to be fabrigated soon also.

We are receiving estimates of the three panel wooden doors in different price and hard wood materials.

We are excited for this building to be completed soon… Please pray for the workers good heath and strength to carry on.

We are adding some helper for faster welding and plastering jobs. We also work on volcanic soil filling. Several should carry a half sack load of soil in shoulder manually and
we did finished the three loads in less than two days. Muscle pains are obvious before bedtime for the helpers today.

Pray for all of us as we carry on to work on the site.

Pray for me and the church members working volunteer.

Monday, October 17, Update of Week 10

The following is a report received from Bro. Jun Abay with pictures of continued construction:

Brethren,

Praise the Lord for the strength God has
restored to me and my family from sorrow and sickness. God is good all the time
and He always a victor thru us as we strive to serve and minister for His
kingdom work. I visited and assisted the construction work with some church
members working volunteer to expedite the work. This week is busy with
canvassing the panel door in the entrance and side doors in hard wood
materials. I already received two quotations and waiting for other two for
final negotiations and decisions to go with the work. Please pray we can get
the best bidding with quality and low price for us.

We already have a water system this time. Water
is now running for mixing cement and other masonry work. We still hooked at the
house beside us for electricity with our own sub meter to do our welding work
and lighting in the evening for the protection of our materials with our night
guard on watch.

We are trying to target December to complete the
building but becoz of these low pressure coming in the Philippines, delays are
always possible.

I am trying to ask the workers that these is
God’s work and they understand that receiving low wages are not a problem to
them. They so much willing to help and work with so much diligence and honesty.

Pray for me…Thanks to all churches who poured
out their hearts to the mission work here..

Had a great time at the Shelby County Local Association on Thursday, October 13 and Friday, October 14, listening to the reports and fellowshipping with the Pastors and Members. This is the local association that White Rock Missionary Baptist Church is a member of. I am thankful for their concern and endorsement of Philippine Mission Development. The association voted to recommend PMD as their local project for the coming year.

Saturday I was privileged to be in and a part of the ordination service of Bro. Joseph Jones. His Grandfather, Bro. Sammy Eldridge, and his Dad, Bro. Carroll Jones, did an excellent job of questions and the charge. I know Bro. Joe is going to be an excellent Pastor.

Sunday Morning and Sunday Night I filled in at the church where my Mother grew up in, and my brother and his family attend. Had a great time.

Sunday, October 9, I was priviledged to be with Gilmer Missionary Baptist Church in Gilmer, Texas. I was allowed to preach the Morning and Afternoon Services, present PMD, and enjoy a great fellowship meal.
